Kathleen’s request was that “May I Go” by Susan Jackson be included in her obituary:
May I go know? Do you think the time is right? May I say good-bye to the pain-filled days and endlessly lonely nights?
I’ve lived my life and done my best, an example tried to be. So can’t I take that step beyond and set my spirit free? I didn’t want to go at first. I fought with all my might. But something seems to draw me now to a warm and loving light.
I want to go I really do. It’s difficult to stay. But I will try as best I can to live just one more day. To give you time to care for me and share your love and fears. I know you’re sad and afraid, because I see your tears.
I’ll not be far I promise that and I hope you’ll always know that my spirit will be with you wherever you may go. Thank you for loving me. You know I love you too.
That’s why it’s hard to say goodbye and end this life with you. So hold me now just one more time and let me hear you say because you care so much for me you’ll let me go today.
In accordance with Kathleen’s wishes there will not be any services. Following cremation, interment will be at the North Auburn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donation be made to the Franklin County Animal Shelter, 550 Industry Road, Farmington, ME 04938. Cremation services are being cared for and provided by the Wiles Remembrance Center of Farmington and Gracelawn Memorial Park of Auburn.

Dear Darryl, David and Lois;
Sorry to hear that our friend and relative Kay has passed. If there was going to be a service I would be there.
I know we are related and have spent much time on the Day geneology but haven’t gone down the Currier branch very far yet. It was my hope to get to New Sharon this summer for more research but work keeps me busy. I’m old enough to retire but don’t want to. Seems the only time I get there is funerals. We are going to Farmington Fair Friday.
I have fond memories of your mother and the times we spent at your house. I lost my brother this spring so I know this is hard but she lived a long and fruitful life. I still have a racket from the racket factory hanging in my train room.
