Pauline J. Kittredge (1932-2009)

FARMINGTON – Pauline J. Kittredge, 77, of Farmington died Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009 at Edgewood Rehabilitation and Living Center.

She was born on April 19, 1932 in Rangeley, the daughter of Harold O. and Dorothy M. (Mason) Oakes. In August 1955 she married Cuvier Kittredge who passed away in 1976. Pauline worked for local shoe shops until her retirement in the early 80s. Her life revolved around her children and her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed camping in Madrid. Pauline was a devoted wife, mother, and friend. She became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints late in life through which she embraced the gospel and was baptized at the age of 77.

Pauline is survived by her daughter Janice Bachelder of Strong; three grandchildren Randy Burnham, Rachel Burnham, and Rebecca Haines all of Farmington; nine great grandchildren Ricky, Chris, Brittney, Amber, Zachary, Edward, Elizabeth, Brandon, and Miyka; two sisters Leatrice Orr and her husband Raymond of Farmington, and Francis Beaulier and her husband Richard of Mercer; two brothers Donald Oakes and his wife Dolly of Wilton, and Robert Oakes and his wife Bonnie of Bangor; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and two special friends Francine Moody and Valerie Houle.

Pauline was predeceased by her parents, her husband of 21 years, her son Richard Coolidge, a sister Shirley Bernard, a brother Russell Oakes, and a very special friend Irene Fletcher.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, Dec. 11, 2009 at 6 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints in Farmington. A committal will be held in the spring at Lakeside Cemetery in Wilton. Arrangements under the direction of Adams~McFarlane Funeral & Cremation Services, 108 Court St., Farmington.
