WELD – The Weld Public Library is pleased to announce they have received a Grant from The Libri Foundation, located in Eugene, Oregon. Although based in Oregon, the Libri Foundation awards grants that put books into rural libraries across the United States.

In the last 18 years the foundation has placed almost four million dollars worth of books into 2,800 libraries across the country, including $1,400 to the Weld Public Library, $350 of which was a special grant providing math and science books.

Since the closing of the Weld Elementary School, the Weld Library has tried to offer various programs to the children and adults of the town and surrounding areas. Parents and children are invited to stop in and check out the 83 new children’s books. These books are aimed at Easy Readers to Young Adults.

There’s nothing like opening a book for the very first time. The children and adults of Weld have that opportunity 83 times!

For more information, contact Judy Rogers, Director Weld Public Library, Tuesdays and Thursdays 2-7 p.m. or 585-2439.
