Here’s why it makes sense to advertise with the Daily Bulldog:

The Daily Bulldog is an online newspaper and community site based in Farmington, Maine.

Consisting of a group of local writers, photographers and news reporters, the Daily Bulldog has steadily grown in both content and traffic. Recently, after undergoing a major technological upgrade, the Daily Bulldog is more accessible, more attractive and more fun to read.

Since the upgrade, we have seen dramatic growth in our traffic across the board; returning visitors, new visitors, average time on site and pages viewed. In the past month we had 18,762 “absolute unique visitors,” with each unique visitor representing a single IP address. Of those, 16.43 percent were completely new to the site.

Those visitors viewed 230,842 Web pages. These visits typically originate inside Franklin County, as one might expect, but also from away. Nearly 15,000 visits were logged in the Portland area for instance, and thousands more from throughout the state. Thousands of visits were logged throughout New England, from New York City, Boston and Manchester, and even further away, as the Bulldog adds new readers in Texas, Florida and California.

Each of those 230,842 Web pages viewed features all six of our advertisement spaces, prominently displayed on the right side of the page. Each block ad space has three rotating advertisements. The ads rotate randomly, and six new ads are generated any time a visitor clicks on any page of the Daily Bulldog.

This means that any single ad on the Bulldog in the past month was viewed 76,947 times, averaging 2,565 times a day by the Bulldog’s readers.

Daily Bulldog advertisements are 120 pixels tall by 250 pixels wide, in full color, and are displayed in a .gif format for the best clarity. Clicking on an advertisement brings up the Web site to your business in a separate window for easy navigation.

We are happy to create advertisements for you and your company, free of charge. Many of the advertisements you see on our site were created by the Bulldog’s graphic design division.

[*NEW*] We now also can host flash-capable advertisements. These do not cost any extra to host, but we do ask that they be designed by your company.

A block advertisement on the Daily Bulldog is $200 per month. Purchasing an advertisement also results in the business being entered into our community directory free of charge.

These directories are a new aspect of the Daily Bulldog, and one we’re excited to continue to develop as a useful tool for residents and visitors to Franklin County alike. 

This listing is easily accessible from the red navigation bar at the top of our home page, with “Home and Garden” and “The Good Life.” We plan on these being a great resource by both residents and visitors to Franklin County, giving them up-to-the-minute information about where to find restaurants, motels, special events and everything they need to maintain or improve their homes. 

A listing includes the business name, space for a 125 pixel x 80 pixel logo (as illustrated by the rectangle on the left), contact information and brief description of the goods or services you provide. The directory listing can also link directly to your website and/or email to make customer navigation easy. The cost of adding your name, logo and information to our directory alone is $15/month. One of the two directories can be seen here. 

CLASSIFIEDS 
The dailybulldog.com classified section is a simple, chronologically-ordered display allowing businesses, individuals and agencies to relay information to our many visitors. Simply email us your entry. Please ensure that some form of contact information is included. While this service is free for individuals, commercial enterprises and municipal entities will be charged $10/week or $40/month for ads up to 100 words in length. Longer classifieds are no problem but the cost may be slightly higher in some cases. Public & Legal Notices are charged $40 per entry, with the Daily Bulldog providing an Affidavit of Publication if necessary.
