FARMINGTON – Internationally acclaimed Celtic-Latin-Jazz group Alba’s Edge joins forces with Mt Blue High School’s Franklin County Fiddlers for an exciting evening of music to be held at Mt Blue High School’s Forum Room, 7:30 p.m. Oct. 16. A donation of $10 per person or $25 per family is suggested, with part of the proceeds of the event going to the Fiddlers in order to fund their travel plans later in the school year.

Alba’s Edge explores the common ground between the expressive melodies of Scotland, hypnotic rhythms of Latin America, dance grooves of Funk and improvisations and harmonies of Jazz. The quartet’s unique sound is gaining attention both in the US and overseas, with BBC Radio Scotland praising their sound as “A wonderful concoction.” After wrapping up a successful Kickstarter campaign at the beginning of September, the Alba’s Edge October tour provides fans new and old with a chance to hear some of their newest material before they head into the studio to make their first full length recording.

The Franklin County Fiddlers, led by orchestra teacher and Acadian fiddler Steve Muise, is a multi-stylistic group that embodies the joyful energy and community spirit of traditional fiddle music from numerous traditions. As part of this event the Fiddlers have had the chance to work with and learn from members of Alba’s Edge and the groups will collaborate on a few pieces at the show. Come out on October 16th to discover the excitement first hand!
