VIENNA – The Vienna Union Hall and Camp Bearnstow are honored to host The Almanac Dance CircusTheater presenting Leaps of Faith and Other Mistakes – Dangerous Certainty in a Time of Doubt! on Saturday, Aug. 1, at 7:30 p.m. Almanac is an emerging dance circus theatre company based out of Philadelphia. Founded in 2012 by Ben Grinberg and Nick Gillette, graduates of the Pig Iron School for Advanced Performance Training, they strive to tell universal stories through honesty of presence and the transcendent joy of moving.

Leaps of Faith is an absurd acrobatic dance piece about sublime human idiocy, isolationist seafarer cults, and the kinds of people that devote their lives to becoming acrobats. Created by former Bearnstow Artists in Residence Ben Grinberg and Adam Kerbel. The show originally premiered June 25-28, 2015, in Philadelphia. It was created and Performed by: Nicole Burgi, Nick Gillette Ben Grinberg and Adam Kerbel, with writing by Josh McIlvain and music by Patrick Lamborn

The follow-up to Communitas, Almanac’s critically acclaimed inquiry into trust and the formation of community, Leaps of Faith and Other Mistakes examines the limits of our collective trust and the darker undersides of our convictions. Created in part through a residency at the Philadelphia School of Circus Arts, a collaborative residency with  international guest artist Emmanuel Becerra, and training in Montreal with Crique du Soliel’s Jerome Le Baut.

Admission is by donations at the door.
