‘American Wildlife Up Close’ to be presented Saturday

Gary and Helga Westerhoff

RANGELEY - For many years, Gary and Helga Westerhoff have brought music to the Rangeley Region. This year Gary Westerhoff will also be sharing his love of photography and nature in a special presentation on Aug. 4 at 7 p.m. at The Barn on High Street.

Over more than four decades, Gary Westerhoff has developed a passion for outdoor adventures that began with fly fishing for brook trout in the Rangeley area. This grew into a love for combining trout fishing with landscape and wildlife nature photography across America, Canada, Central America and South America. His wildlife images, featured in this presentation, catch the individual characteristics of the animals and their relation to the environment in which they live, often portraying the habits and family life of the animals.

Gary Westerhoff has been a long time summer resident of Rangeley and presently owns a home on Rangeley Lake. He will make a slide show presentation and lead a discussion on Saturday, August 4 from 7 to 8 PM at the Barn of the Congregational Church on 2 High Street in Rangeley. The presentation is sponsored by The Westerhoff Family Foundation and The Rangeley Friends of the Arts. Admission is free however donations to RFA will be accepted. His presentation is entitled American Wildlife Up Close.

A number of Gary’s images and books may be viewed on his web site at www.westerhoffnaturephotography.com.
