KINGFIELD – In June of 2013 the skies darkened, claps of thunder were heard in the distance and the continuation of another magical Kingfield POPS outdoor concert was seriously threatened. Challenged organizers postponed the show and tightened down the staging. After a short wait, singer-songwriter Anni Clark took the stage under a warming sun and a rare double rainbow, smiling at a fully engaged and captivated audience. Magic once again prevailed, but due to circumstance, Clark’s joyfully-embraced musical set was shortened.

Organizers are bringing Anni back to Kingfield on Friday, Oct. 24 for a special full length performance at the Herbert Grand Hotel. Doors will open at 6:30 for a 7 p.m. show and tickets are just $12 in advance and $15 at the door (or on the day of the show.)  It is anticipated that the show may sell out in this intimate and historic indoor setting.

A Maine native, Clark has toured all of the eastern states, much of the southwest, released seven recordings and shared stages with performers like Shawn Colvin, Richie Havens and Dar Williams, to name a few. With soulful vocals and both 6- and 12-string guitars, she blends folk, pop and blues with “a dash of Maine hue-mah” to create a spot on performance every time.

In 2003, Clark won BOTH “Female Artist of the Year ” and “Folk Artist of the Year” in Jam Music Magazine’s Readers’ Pix Awards. With glowing reviews and steady airplay to support her, she toured nonstop with the release of her CD Big Water. Baltimore’s Dirty Linen Magazine wrote “…she leads the way to a metaphorical exploration of the natural world. ‘Forever Free’  is one of the strongest songs written about the events of 9/11.” Maine’s Face Magazine said that “not only does Clark continue to write and perform great songs about this thing called life, she does so with a quiet grace.” Maine’s Kennebec Journal wrote “what I love about Clark is that she can have you laughing one moment and close to tears the next with the honest emotions in her material.” In addition to her 2013 Kingfield POPS performance, other renowned festival appearances include the Boston Folk Festival, the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival in Hillsdale NY and the Kerrville TX Wine and Music Festival.

On Oct. 24, there’s a good chance that Anni will perform a song written about her early years traveling to Sugarloaf for a day of skiing and maybe a tune about white water rafting on some of our big waters here in Maine. These are two of many songs that have become favorites for fans of Anni.
