EAST DIXFIELD – Countryfolk Music Theatre will celebrate its 15th season celebration July 26 & 27 with youth music scholarship awards and more.

Paula Kaiser of Lewiston, formerly of Wilton and Livermore Falls, will head the Countryfolk Cowboy Church Service at 10 a.m. on Sunday, July 27.

Kaiser has been a regular at Countryfolk for many years and is an award winning singer-songwriter in Maine. She has performed throughout Maine at Countryfest in Litchfield, various talent shows as well as Pigeon Forge, Tenn., as a participating member of the Downeast Country Music Association.

Cowboy Church at Countryfolk was started by the late Ginger Mae Dyer several years ago and has become a regular part of the annual Countryfolk youth music scholarship two-day weekend.

Kaiser will also appear on Saturday, July 26, during the all day country jamboree performing with her two bands, “Off The Hill” and “Stained Grass.”

Saturday will also feature an “open mic” 10-noon followed by country, gospel, folk and bluegrass musicians with new performers every 30 minutes from noon – 7 pm. Recently added to the lineup of performers are Patrick Libby and Shawna Edwards Bonnevie, both former scholarship awardees at Countryfolk. Both now play and perform professionally in Maine and are outstanding country musicians.

Larry Bisbee, operator of Countryfolk said “thanks to all the volunteers and musicians over the past 15 years we have been able to award scholarship monies, just from donations, to 34 youths and more than $5,000.”

Countryfolk is located on Route 2 in East Dixfield, and is always free and for families. Anyone wishing to camp over for the weekend should call to reserve a space. More info contact Larry Bisbee at 207-645-4411.
