Farmington singers headline Countryfolk Reunion & Barn Dance weekend, July 28-29
EAST DIXFIELD - Music will fill the valley once again as Larry Bisbee’s Countryfolk Music Theatre on Route 2 in the East Dixfield section of Wilton will host the Countryfolk Reunion & Barn Dance on Saturday and Sunday, July 28-29.
“So many folks have asked for a music weekend that we decided to host one event this summer," Bisbee said. “We will have an old-fashioned Barn Dance on Saturday night featuring classic '60s and country music performed live by “ Seminole Wind” (Jeff and Donna Wells of Farmington) , a popular group who knows how to get the audience up and dancing.”
The free dance will be on Saturday, July 28, from 7-10 p.m. and any donations will support the Countryfolk youth music scholarships.
Sunday will be the Countryfolk Reunion Country Sunday from noon to 6 p.m., featuring 20-30 volunteer musicians including Nickels and Dimes, Stained Grass and Off The Hill, as well as many returning individual award winning performers. All musicians, families and friends are invited.
It will be rain or shine and free to the public. More than 250 individual musicians have performed at Countryfolk over the past 13 years and are invited to return for this fun weekend. All country, bluegrass, and '60s music musicians are invited.
A Country and Bluegrass pickin’ party will be held for musicians all day Saturday as well and camping is free for musicians and their families..( Musician campers may come in on Friday/Saturday anytime).
