PHILLIPS – The Phillips Public Library presents an intimate concert with Los Angeles’ Freddy and Francine on Tuesday, August 26.

Freddy and Francine is comprised of Lee Ferris and Phillips native Bianca Caruso. Ferris and Caruso met while performing in the musical HaiR, Michael Butler’s (original Broadway producer) 40th anniversary revival. Recently, Lee Ferris toured as Carl Perkins in Broadway’s Million Dollar Quartet and Bianca Caruso embarked on a solo career in New York City and Los Angeles.

“Freddy & Francine are back together and there’s no telling what comes next. Beginning our latest tour, at The Library Studio @ the Phillips Library is my way of giving something back to a community that means so much to me”, stated Caruso.

Caruso continued: “Freddy & Francine draws from influences like Ray La Montagne, Bonnie Raitt and The Rolling Stones with tinges of country, folk, and pop and underscored by a soulful delivery reminiscent of classic R&B”

Between 2008 and 2010, Freddy & Francine became favorites on the Los Angeles live circuit, building a word-of-mouth following with regular performances at Los Angeles’ popular “listening rooms and building a loyal fan base and continually selling out the house.

“This intimate concert is the beginning of Freddy and Francine’s East Coast Tour and we are delighted to host such a professional act as Freddy and Francine”, stated Hedy Stinchfield, Phillips’ Librarian. Stinchfield continued: “The Library Studio (located in the Annex Building next to the Library) has been transformed into an intimate musical performance area reminiscent of the 1960’s Coffee House experience fusing performers and audiences”.

The Library Studio is located in the Annex Building next to the Phillips Public Library on Main Street — Admission is $10 and seating is very limited.
