Artists Beth Ann Delory with ‘Sunset Mountains’

WILTON – The Hathaway Art Studio, May Art Open House was held at 32 Maple Street with six artists exhibiting in acrylic, watercolor, oil, sculpture and
photography.

Hostess Barbara Hathaway, painter of sunsets, exhibited a variety of work in the studio gallery including a colorful sculptured tile head. Hathaway instructs art at the Hathaway Art Studio through the Mt. Blue RSD Adult & Community Education and the Auburn Adult Education program. Mediums available for study are in Oil Wet on Wet Technique, Acrylics, Watercolor, Pastels and Illustrating Children’s Books.

Four Adult Education artists exhibited. Alexis Burbank of Jay, a recent fine arts graduate from the University of Maine at Machias, now a freelance artist
and illustrator, displayed prints of her art in ink and a selection of creative art leather face masks. Alexis set up her art under the art canopy on the lawn. Colorful banners gave a splash of color. Alexis demonstrated how the art masks are used. Several paintings in different mediums, were on exhibit through out the house and studio. The art work, creative jewelry and art leather masks, designer greeting cards and floral painted boxes were on sale just in time for Mother’s Day.

Artist Photography, Nahid Fekri-Dalpour of Wilton, displayed several moon photos taken in different phases of the moon. The unique photos were fascinating.
Beth Ann Delory of Chesterville exhibited Oil paintings of landscapes and charming animals including a fox. Jeannette Whitman’s of East Livermore,
exhibited floral painted boxes, Acrylic paintings of sunsets, and a lighthouse that were a delight. Pauline Roy of Jay displayed a selection of Acrylic paintings and a variety of beautiful jewelry.

Classes at the Hathaway Studio are on going. Hathaway organizes Pleine Air Workshop and Art Retreats and is available to give art demonstration for club activities.

Hathaway is the Maine Federation of Women’s Clubs Art Department Chairman and a member of Upcountry Artists.
