FARMINGTON – You are in for a real treat this Sunday. Come along to Fairbanks Union Church at 10 am and enjoy an hour of wonderful storytelling and music by storyteller Dr. Phyllis Blackstone.

Blackstone retired last year after a 43-year career in education, including classroom teaching, administration, and university and graduate student teaching. Her preferred tool has always been storytelling and she now shares her passion for this with many different audiences – in libraries and classrooms, retirement homes and churches. A member of MOOSE (Maine Organization of Storytelling Enthusiasts), WOODS (Western Order of Dedicated Storytellers) in Farmington, NSN (National Storytelling Network) and NBS (National Organization of Biblical Storytellers), she finds stories wherever she goes, weaving her own personal experiences and those of others into tales that entertain, surprise, comfort or encourage, and always enlighten.

You’ll find yourself thinking about the stories and their meaning long after Phyllis has told them – always the mark of a good story and a good storyteller. These are stories “told from the heart, good for the soul.”

Fairbanks Union Church is located at 583 Fairbanks Road, Rt 4, just north of the junction with Rt 27. See our website www.fairbanksunionmaine.org and our facebook page.
