Maine authors, artists to appear at Outdoor Sporting Heritage Museum on July 2

OQUOSSOC – Three very interesting Maine-based talents will appear on Saturday, July 2 at the Outdoor Sporting Heritage Museum in Oquossoc in celebration of the Independence Day weekend.

The day will be headlined by Award-Winning Author, Paul Doiron who will greet museum visitors and sign his seven very poplar novels from 11-2 p.m. Doiron’s best-selling titles feature fictional lead character Game Warden Mike Bowditch. The series began with the highly-acclaimed title; “The Poachers Son” which won the Barry award and the Strand award for “Best First Novel.” Doiron will debut his latest thriller in the series; “The Widowmaker” at OSHM.

“Paul has been a tremendous supporter and fan of the museum and “The Widowmaker” promises to be another real page-turner,” said OSHM Executive Director, Bill Pierce. The Bestselling author is the former editor in chief of Down East: The Magazine of Maine. All of Paul’s books will be available for purchase and will be signed for attendees in support of OSHM.

“Warden Bowditch’s exploits, trials and travails are set in our very own mountains of Western Maine this time around, so it’s especially fitting to have Paul join us again and we are thrilled to have him back,” said Pierce.widowmaker

Also at the Outdoor Sporting Heritage Museum on Saturday, July 2 Wildlife Artist Terri Mason & Fly Tier Scott Broomhall will share their talents from 10-3pm. Terri Mason is an accomplished artist and has been painting outdoor scenes and wildlife on various mediums for over 22 years. A prolific and talented fly-tier, Scott Broomhall ties flies that have caught fish in the waters of Western Maine for the past five decades. Both of these talented artists will demonstrate their gifts and offer their creations for sale in support of the museum.

The Outdoor Sporting Heritage Museum is located at the corner of Routes 4 & 17 in Oquossoc Village in Rangeley and is open 7 days a week from 10-4 p.m. in July and August.
