Stars Tonight by Greg Zemlansky
I looked at the bright
stars tonight.
The window of Heaven
is very clear.
Not a single cloud to
disturb the moon’s light.
I started to count the little
twinkling diamonds.
I started to count them
one by one.
But we all know that can’t
be done.
I wonder how far away the
stars are.
I wonder if we will be there
some day.
Are they the light for God’s
Holy altar?
