RANGELEY – Emily Drexler and Michael Blythe have joined the staff of Westerhoff/Rangeley Friends of the Arts Music Camp to be held Aug. 8-12.

Emily Drexler picked up a violin at age four and began the first chapter of a story she would write for the rest of her life. She has toured extensively throughout the United States, Europe, and South America, playing both solos and with youth orchestras. Currently, Drexler is a member of the prestigious East Tennessee Symphony Orchestra, organized a chamber ensemble to play with the Honors Choir Festival Workshop, served as junior staff member for At First Sight- a sight-reading and chamber music workshop for kids, and hosts a weekly sight-reading group. Drexler has completed Suzuki teacher training through Book 3 and is enthusiastic to inspire the next generation of musicians.

Michael Blythe has studied, created, and performed for most of his life. His focus is percussion and guitar. He has taught music at the Rangeley Lakes Regional School as well as students of all ages. Music is his life and he wants to inspire others through music.

Other staff members include: David Iskowitz, the camp’s leader and pianist, music director of Westerhoff School of Music and Art and on faculty at Drew University of Madison, N.J., and a graduate of the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University; Erin Smith, music teacher, choral and drama director at Rangeley Lakes Regional School and graduate of Westminster Choir College, Princeton, N.J.; and Timothy Macek, conductor of the Howard University Symphony Orchestra, member of the Kennedy Center/Washington National Opera, and instructor of violin and viola.

The Westerhoff/RFA Music Camp, to be held Aug. 8-12 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. The camp will serve a maximum of 20 students working both individually and in small and large groups.
