FARMINGTON – The Early Bird Sale will be held from 6 to 9 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1 at Reny’s. For those willing to get up early, the payoff will be getting 20 percent off everything in the store.
The sale is held annually on the first Saturday of November and was started by the Reny’s Department Store chain back in the 1980s with the idea of giving shoppers something to do while the hunters were off hunting.
The event has proved very popular in Farmington, with a line often stretching from the store’s door and down the block before the 6 a.m. opening. Many other stores in the downtown are featuring special deals all day long, both for early birds and the later-arriving birds.
Does anyone else know what stores are also having sales? I have looked and looked and not been able to find a list.
Thanks for your help!
In addition to Reny’s, I’ve heard that Pins and Needles, Calico Patch, and Minikins are participating. There was an article in the SunJournal that mentioned Calico Patch, Everyday Music, Divine Inspirations, and Narrow Gauge Cinema as participants as well. That article gave some additional information about what some of the different stores were doing that day. I’m not sure if there are any others. Perhaps there is additional information on the facebook pages of some of these stores. Hope this helps!
Is the homestead doing a breakfast special?
There is an Early Bird Breakfast at Henderson Memorial Baptist Church. That’s the one beside the Pierce House.
