FARMINGTON – The Franklin County Chamber of Commerce is once again seeking an executive director this month, after its top administrator informed the board that she would be unable to continue her duties.

Erin Arthers was the fourth director to leave in less than four years. The former executive director of the Piscataquis Chamber of Commerce, Arthers was hired in July 2013 to replace outgoing, interim executive director Marc Relford. Previously the assistant director, Relford had worked for the chamber approximately 15 months following the resignation of executive director Stacie Bourassa in March 2012. Bourassa replaced Lorna Dee Nichols in April 2011, following that director’s five years at FCCOC.

According to a letter sent to members by FCCOC Board President Mike Blanchet, Arthers had been on a six-week leave of absence before informing the board she would be unable to return to the position.

Two part-time employees at the Chamber’s office in Walmart will continue to run the day-to-day operations and all upcoming events are still scheduled. These include the FCCOC annual meeting in November and the December events: the Holiday Food Basket Program and popular Chester Greenwood Day events and parade.

The board is currently seeking a full-time director.

  5. Just to answer Mr. Day’s question. Lorna Dee Nichols left to open her own business, believe it is closed now. Stacie went to Safe Voices, Marc Relford choose to moved after graduation from UMF to seek employment in Portland, and for Erin unknown at this time.
The Franklin County C of C has a volunteer board (like most boards) that promotes Franklin County and have the members at there best interest. The Chamber pays according to what the budget allows with flexibility.
