FARMINGTON – The Farm Service Agency and the University of Maine Cooperative Extension Service are planning a series of Farm Bill informational meetings to be held at various locations across the state.

In Farmington, a meeting will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Nov. 24 at Lincoln Auditorium, Roberts Learning Center on the University of Maine at Farmington campus.

These meetings are free and open to the public.

Meeting attendees will learn about Farm Service Agency (FSA) Farm Bill programs including: Agricultural Risk Coverage/Price Loss Coverage (ARC/PLC), Marketing Assistance Loans (MALs) and Loan Deficiency Payments (LDPs), Non Insured Crop Disaster Assistance Program (NAP), Farm Storage Facility Loans (FSFLs), and Farm Loan Programs (Farm Ownership, Operating, Emergency and Youth Loans).

Folks from Cooperative Extension will be on hand to demonstrate the online decision-making tools available to producers and to discuss the important enrollment decisions regarding the Agricultural Risk Coverage (ARC) and Price Loss Coverage (PLC) programs.

Learning more about ARC and PLC is extremely important for producers who must make a one-time decision about base and yield updates as well as ARC or PLC election and enrollment decisions. An FSA representative will be in attendance to answer any questions on ARC and PLC policy and procedure.
