FSB promotes two senior vice presidents

FARMINGTON – Franklin Savings Bank has promoted two on its administrative team to the executive vice president level.

Timothy J. Thompson and Shelley W. Deane rise from the senior vice president level to executive vice president, announced President and CEO Peter L. Judkins. The new titles are: Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Thompson, and Executive Vice President, Administration and Human Resources for Deane.

“Tim’s eye for detail has served the bank well in his 15 years with us. His role has evolved with his many responsibilities at the bank,” said Judkins. “He is responsible for finance, operations, and technology as well as his other administrative duties required on a daily basis.”

Thompson has been with Franklin Savings Bank since 2000. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Maine and a Master of Business Administration from Thomas College. He is also a graduate of the National School of Banking.

Thompson is active in the community serving on the Pierce House Board of Directors and the Greater Franklin Development Corporation Board of Directors. He grew up in Kingfield and has lived in the Farmington area for many years. He and his wife, Lisa, have two grown children.

Deane, who recently celebrated 35 years at Franklin Savings Bank, continues to serve as branch administrator and human resources director.

“Shelley started as a teller and has worked her way up to become an key player on our administrative team. As the human resources director, she has played a critical role in assembling the players on all our bank teams and can be credited with much of the success of the bank in terms of employee quality and customer service,” said Judkins.

Deane, a graduate of Mt. Blue High School, has taken numerous courses at the University of Maine at Farmington and through American Institute for Banking. She also holds a certificate in Human Resource Management from Cornell University and a certificate from the School of Management Development through the Center for Financial Studies.

Professionally, Deane is active with the Maine Bankers Association, where she serves on the Benefits Advisory Committee and the Human Resource Committee.

Deane is a long time board member of the Titcomb Ski Education Foundation in addition to volunteering at numerous community activities. Shelley also works with various resources to bring continuing education to working adult learners.

Deane and her husband Rick live in Farmington. They have two grown children and two grandchildren.
