FARMINGTON – Greater Franklin Development Corporation is pleased to announce that Thomas R. Dubois, P.E., Director of Engineering and Personnel at Main-Land Development Consultants, Inc. has been appointed to the company’s board of directors, bringing the Board’s size to 12.

“I have worked in the greater Franklin County area for 28 years” Dubois said. “It has been my home for 24 years, I care about the area, and want to do my part to help it prosper in this generation and in the ones to follow. This part of Maine has so much to offer by way of quality of life, and for many years, had the jobs to go with that quality of life. I believe we can get there again, if we focus on job creation and support for our current employers in this region.”

Dubois is a professional engineer and leads the engineering department as the senior engineer. Dubois is a Maine native, raised in Auburn and a graduate of Edward Little High School. Dubois studied engineering at the University of Maine at Orono where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 1986.

Dubois became a staff Engineer for Main-Land Development Consultants in 1987 and has remained with the company to this date. Early in his career, his leadership skills became apparent and he served as General Manager throughout my time as owner of the company. As General Manager and Chief Engineer, Dubois has been involved with numerous projects in Franklin County that have led to significant job creation as well as projects in the recreation and tourism sectors. A cross section of those projects include the Chip Mill in Farmington, the approval of the 10 year plan for Saddleback Mountain, numerous projects in the Rangeley area including a 90 lot subdivision known as “Rangeley North,” the Town of Kingfield Sewer Treatment Facility, Rangeley Lakes Heritage Trust and, the Huts and Trails project.

Chairman Darryl Brown on Dubois joining the Board: “Tom is a resident of Salem Township and, therefore, will add an important voice to the Board as the only current member from the Unorganized Townships. We look forward to the leadership and enthusiasm that he will bring to our Board”
