FARMINGTON – Gifford’s Ice Cream has created and launched its new Outdoor Adventure Series of flavors, each inspired by Maine wilderness landmarks and activities.

The six flavors – Appalachian Trail, Campfire S’mores, Fly Fishing Fudge, Golden Road Butter Brickle, Mt. Katahdin Crunch and Muddy Boots – pay tribute to outdoor activities enjoyed by generations of Maine residents and visitors.

“People come to Maine to enjoy our beautiful scenery,” said Gifford’s General Manager Lindsay Gifford-Skilling. “These Outdoor Adventure Series flavors capture some of that spirit in each scoop.”

Gifford’s Outdoor Adventure Series ice cream is available in retail stores, restaurants and independent scoop shops throughout New England, the Mid-Atlantic, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Outdoor Adventure Series flavors:

Appalachian Trail
The Appalachian Trail’s northern terminus is atop Maine’s Mt. Katahdin. This flavor uses honey crunch cashews and chocolate flakes to form a tasty path through lush banana ice cream.

Campfire S’mores
Making s’mores around a campfire might be an unofficial state activity. This ice cream is made with chocolate chips and marshmallow ripple in graham ice cream.

Fly Fishing Fudge
M&Ms, cookie dough, and chocolate chunks jump in and out of a fudge river flowing through Old-Fashioned Vanilla ice cream.

Golden Road Butter Brickle
Buttery ice cream loaded with crunchy sweet peanut brittle.

Mt. Katahdin Crunch
Mt. Katahdin is Maine’s highest peak. This flavor is made with toffee ice cream and a landslide of chocolate-coated English toffee.

Muddy Boots
Muddy Boots is made with Gifford’s award-winning Old-Fashioned Vanilla ice cream, sweet caramel ripple and rich chocolate brownie bites.

Gifford’s Ice Cream (www.giffordsicecream.com ) is a fifth-generation, Maine family-owned company that sources its cream and milk exclusively from independent Maine family farms, and uses antique 1940s Cherry Burrell freezers and a state-of-the-art freezing system to make the most delicious, creamiest ice cream possible. Gifford’s Ice Cream is made with only the finest ingredients, including all-natural Maine maple syrup, premium chocolate, imported vanilla extract, fresh fruits, berries and nuts, and has earned numerous international and national “First Place” and “World’s Best” awards for its premium ice cream and sherbet.
