SKOWHEGAN – Gifford’s Ice Cream has added three new employees to its growing sales team. Each of the three employees has a years-long background in the ice cream industry and familiarity with her targeted sales region.

Patricia Thomas

Patricia Thomas is regional sales manager for Maryland, Virginia, Washington, DC and southern Pennsylvania. Thomas heads the company’s development of new business in the Mid-Atlantic, which is growing following the purchase of Maryland’s Gifford’s Ice Cream & Candy last fall. Thomas is a veteran of the ice cream industry, with over 13 years of experience in customer service and business development.

Susan Fenocchi

Susan Fenocchi is regional sales manager for New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She began her ice cream career working in her family’s scoop shop near Binghamton, New York, and has held ice cream and dairy sales positions for General Foods, Kraft and RJR Nabisco. Fenocchi also has experience in the foodservice, convenience store and distributor sectors of the industry.

Samantha Gifford

Samantha Gifford joins Gifford’s as a sales representative focusing on Maine. A recent graduate of Husson University, she is the sixth Gifford of her generation to join the family-owned company.

“Patricia, Susan and Samantha care about customers and love ice cream,” said Lindsay Gifford-Skilling, general manager at Gifford’s. “They’re strong additions to our team and will help us continue to grow.”

Gifford’s Ice Cream sources its fresh cream and milk exclusively from independent family farms in Maine. The fifth-generation, family-owned company uses vintage 1940s Cherry Burrell freezers, coupled with a state-of-the-art freezing system, to achieve its award-winning, creamy texture and fresh-churned consistency.

It has earned numerous international and national “First Place” and “World’s Best” awards for Gifford’s premium ice cream and sherbet, and continues to expand its distribution and offerings.

  1. Aha! Now, when we go in to purchase Gifford’s ice cream in Bethesda, it really WILL be Gifford’s — OUR Gifford’s. We can teach them all about Muddy Bean Boots and Grape-Nuts ice cream.
