FARMINGTON – Organizers for the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce’s 19th annual Home and Leisure Show were pleased to have returned to the newly-constructed Mt. Blue High School campus and with the good turnout of participating vendors and attendees on Saturday.
Forty business and organization vendors were set up around the new, brightly lit gymnasium while food and entertainment opportunities were held in the nearby food court. Raffles and vendor giveaways keep the large crowd attending the event happy.
“It’s great to be back here,” said Scott Landry, the Chamber’s president. This year’s show was moved to an earlier spring date and with that came the need to move from the unheated Farmington fairgrounds Starbird Building. The event was originally held at the high school but has had to move during construction of the gym to other locations.
Vendors smiled and said they prefer the high school location, which Landry said the Chamber intends to keep it there from now on.
Glenn Kapiloff, the chair of the chamber committee that planned the show, said vendors have already signed up for next year’s show, which will be held on March 15, 2014.
“We really appreciate the community coming out for this,” Kapiloff said. “We’re working to keep the Chamber going “so we can support our local economic growth.”
