CARRABASSETT VALLEY – When Sugarloafers return to the mountain this fall, they will be greeted by the addition of a new retail outlet in the Sugarloaf Village; Utah-based KÜHL clothing company is set to open the new retail location at the base of the mountain in time for the resort’s annual Homecoming Weekend in October.
Born in the mountains, and anchored in the ski community since the early-eighties, the KÜHL brand has become a staple in the outdoor and active wear segment. “KÜHL aspires to contribute to mountain culture in its efforts to provide like-minded enthusiasts with the finest quality outdoor clothing available,” according to the company’s website. The KÜHL brand delivers innovative style and features, using exclusive fabrics with unique weaves and vintage washes to create authentic character in all of its products.
The company’s product lines feature men’s and women’s casual, active, and outer wear, in addition to hats, accessories, and kids clothes.
The new retail outlet is just the latest in a series of additions to the resorts iconic base area to help enhance the Sugarloaf Village experience with more shops, events, and dining options.
Last fall, the resort began a partnership with Vermont-based snowboard company, Burton, and launched the Burton Signature Store. Following the success of that partnership throughout the 2015-16 ski season, resort officials anticipate that KÜHL will be a natural fit, and a great addition to the Sugarloaf Village.
“The Sugarloaf area provides endless outdoor recreational activities during all four season,” Said Steve Niezgoda, Sugarloaf Director of Retail. “The KÜHL outlet will provide our guests with the finest outdoor clothing available, and will be a great addition to our current retail offerings.”
The KÜHL outlet will be located next to Goldsmith Gallery, and construction on the retail space is set to begin this month. The store will celebrate its grand opening during Homecoming Weekend, Oct. 8-9, 2016 and remain open throughout the year.
