Maine Credit Union League honors 38-year employee of Jay credit union

PORTLAND – In conjunction with its Annual Meeting & Convention recently, the Maine Credit Union League League presented its Annual Awards to seven individuals who, combined, have nearly 150 years of experience being involved with Maine’s credit unions.

“These individuals are committed and work tirelessly on behalf of their credit unions and, in many cases, all of Maine’s credit unions,” said Richard Dupuis, chair of the League’s Annual Awards & Convention Committee. “The Annual Awards are an opportunity to recognize some of these outstanding individuals.”

Among those honored was Nancy Blodgett, Former VP of Otis FCU of Jay. Blodgett, who retired after a 38-year career with the credit union at the end of May, received the Jeannette G. Morin Award for Outstanding Credit Union Employee. One co-worker wrote in Blodgett’s nomination, “Nancy is someone who will be difficult to not have in the workplace. She is such a great resource to us all.”

The other award recipients are:

  • Alexander Ferguson Award for Outstanding CU Volunteer – Marc Doyon, Board Chair at TruChoice FCU, with locations in Portland and Buxton.
  • James M. Gratto Award for Outstanding Credit Union CEO – Roger Sirois, President/CEO of Atlantic Regional FCU, based in Brunswick.
  • Kyle Casburn, President/CEO of Seaboard FCU, headquartered in Bucksport.
  • Diane L. Oceretko ‘People Helping People’ Award

The Maine CU League’s Annual Awards have been presented annually since 1973.

“We applaud the many contributions of this year’s recipients, and appreciate the countless ways in which they make a difference in their credit unions, in the lives of their members, and in the communities in which they live,” said John Murphy, president of the Maine Credit Union League.

  1. The man in the picture is not John Murphy. His name is Roland and he is the president of the Otis Credit Union in Jay.

  2. Congratulations to Nancy! My experience with Nancy is that she exemplifies the spirit of the credit union in everything that she did for members. I know she will be missed by both the members and her co-workers.
