Microsoft Security Fundamentals course offered at CMCC

AUBURN – Corporate and Community Services at Central Maine Community College (CMCC) will offer Microsoft Security Fundamentals on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5 to 9 p.m., from May 20 to June 12. This 32-hour Microsoft IT Academy training course prepares for the Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) Exam 98-367.

Participants build an understanding of the following topics:

  • Security Layers
  • Authentication, Authorization and Accounting
  • Security Policies
  • Operating System Security
  • Network Security
  • Security Software

The MTA Exam validates fundamental knowledge needed to build a career using Microsoft technologies. This certification provides an appropriate entry point in technology careers and assumes some hands-on experience or training but does not assume on-the-job experience. There are no prerequisites for this course.

The cost for this course is $899 and includes all course materials, six-month access to a practice exam ($80 value), and one test voucher for the Microsoft Security Fundamentals certification exam. Registration for this course is open and ongoing, however space is limited.
