Marylena Chaisson is seeking to create a holistic wellness center in downtown Wilton.

WILTON – A holistic wellness center in the downtown will open its doors to fellow providers this month, from its location above the hardware store.

Marylena Chaisson, the owner of Peace Moving Forward, is a clinical mental health counselor who has been in practice in the Rumford area for several years. She recently moved her practice to downtown Wilton to be closer to home. Emphasizing holistic wellness, Chaisson provides solution-focused counseling services. She works with a variety of people and ages, in both groups and individual sessions.

Chaisson intends to attract other holistic wellness providers -such as Reiki practitioners, massage therapists and yoga instructors – to downtown Wilton to participate in a shared practice so that local people do not have to travel long distances or struggle with traffic or parking to obtain holistic wellness services. The office is located on the second floor, above Wilton Hardware Store, at 343 Main Street in the heart of downtown.

There are three spaces available. Two would be suitable for groups/classes, Chaisson suggested that classes could include as many as 10 to 12 people in each space for yoga or another movement-based class, or 20-plus people for a seated, classroom-style interaction. The third space is smaller and would work for individual sessions, such as counseling, reiki, massage, etc. It is a private space, Chaisson said, with a view of the Wilson Stream.

All office spaces include access to the waiting room, bathroom, and kitchen area (fridge, sink, microwave and eating space). There is a water cooler/heater located in the waiting room, including necessities for tea. There are folding chairs and a folding table available if needed. WiFi internet access is included.

Chaisson said that she was willing to work with people on the rate, depending on level of commitment to a regular schedule and willingness to pay in advance for multiple dates. 1. @Sharron – unfortunately not at this point, although I’d love to work on a grant to install a lift for both the 2nd and 3rd floors. Hopefully sometime in the future!
