FARMINGTON – Two special events on Small Business Saturday will take place at Devaney, Doak & Garrett Booksellers on Saturday, Nov. 29: Indies First Comes To Farmington and Maine Attorney General Janet Mills performs The Book With No Pictures.

Indies First comes back to Farmington for this Small Business Saturday. The brainchild of author, Sherman Alexie, the event is designed to support independent bookstores across the U.S. through author participation.

Instead of giving readings and book signings, authors spend part of the day working as booksellers. By doing so, people are revitalizing the local economy, supporting small businesses, and encouraging reading.
