Upright Frameworks launches “Operation Raise ME Up”

2 mins read

Times are tough. Our economy is on the ropes and politicians from Augusta to Washington are too busy bickering to do anything about it. As Mainers, we do not wait for handouts and we are not afraid to lead – if no one else is willing.

Upright Frameworks is calling on its friends and family, clients and employees to join us in raising up Maine’s economy.

Here is what we are doing:
We are committing to doing weatherization refits at cost for the first 100 clients who reserve a slot between now and December 31st, 2011. In other words, Upright Frameworks is committing to invest 100% of its profits (about $50,000 for the 100 projects) in Maine’s economic future. That is a savings of $500 to $1500 per project.
On top of this we are committing another $15,000 to fund a rewards program that will help incentivize those who help us promote this endeavor.

We know weatherization retrofits are a powerful instrument for positive economic change. A properly implemented weatherization project does the following:

  • Pays for itself through energy savings (typically within 5-7 years);
  • Generates wealth for the building/home owner;
  • Diverts a considerable amount of money from oil corporations to the local economy (about $800 per year for the average household).
  • Helps prevent the growing economic disaster that is global warming.

Will 100 homes kick Maine’s economy into high gear? No. But it will boost the economic firepower of the 100 building owners who participate. And if other (reputable) energy efficiency pros join the campaign, we will create a tipping point – which is what this is all about. Once a critical mass of Mainers experience the miracle of weatherization, the market will soar, and Maine’s economy will thrive.

We have had a fantastic couple of years thanks to our visionary clients and we are excited to invest in Maine’s economic future – but we need your help.

  1. A fantastic idea. It’s refreshing to see companies willing to take risks and commit to the ideas they believe in. Thanks for the great work.

  2. This is awesome! My brother, Jake Pettitt, works for these guys! More companies should take a lesson from these guys and put community first, too!
