FARMINGTON – After months of renovations, the Weber Insurance Agency’s Farmington office has moved into its new home at 670 Wilton Road and is open for business.
The move into the former TD Bank building next to the Mt. Blue Shopping Center is noteworthy for several reasons.
Besides relocating into a new office building where there is plenty of parking and is handicapped accessible, is what may be the first drive-through window at an insurance company office.
The convenient drive-through is open to service those who want to pick up identification cards, or drop off correspondences.
After 128 years downtown, Margie Powers of the agency noted the relocation is great. “We’re all very excited about the whole thing,” she said.
Weber Insurance owner Mark Cote purchased the former bank branch building to provide for more customer convenience, Powers said. Parking is always available at the new building and it makes financial sense because the company will own the building, instead of continuing to lease the office space at 190 Main Street.
The insurance agency, first known as the Voter and Knowlton Agency, was established in 1886 by Newell R. Knowlton and was located in downtown Farmington. Various owners and the name change to Weber Insurance Agency followed over the years. Cote purchased the agency in 2006 and remains sole owner.
Nice facelift to the building. Happy to see revitalization of existing structures. Think the drive thru is awesome idea.
Congratulations on your new office.
Nice move. Good luck in the future.
