WMCA celebrates 50 years of service

FARMINGTON – Western Maine Community Action began 50 years ago as a social service agency dedicated to the principal that poverty should not be a permanent condition of people’s lives.

WMCA continues to work to advocate for, strengthen and coordinate all resources-private, local, state and federal-to promote the self-sufficiency of people. A belief in basic human dignity and the exercise of free choice motivates the agency to approach this goal in two ways: by providing services to alleviate the conditions of economic uncertainty and by advocating for changes to eliminate the causes of poverty.

Please join WMCA to celebrate our 50th Anniversary of community action on June 12 at the University of Maine at Farmington.
