FARMINGTON – Women, Work, and Community is offering three, free two-hour money management workshops: “Your Money Personality,” “Budgeting Basics,” and “Cleaning Up Your Credit” at their Farmington Center at 108 Perham Street, Farmington on consecutive Tuesdays; March 17, 24, and 31 from 6 p.m. to 8 pm.

Rising costs of living, difficulties finding quality jobs, and changes in health insurance coverage are just some of the reasons managing your money can be difficult. Whether you are living on a fixed income, working at a low-wage job, or have more money going out than you have coming in, learning the financial skills that can help you make smart money decisions is one of the best investments you can make in yourself and your family.

In “Your Money Personality” on March 17, we will use a fun and unique “Money Habitudes” card sort activity to identify your money management style. Developed by Syble Solomon, this process helps you learn how your habits and attitudes towards money affect your decisions and actions related to money. We will use the results as a starting point for thinking about how you can become more comfortable managing your money.

In “Budgeting Basics” on Marcy 24, you will learn about the basic components for building a budget. We will discuss money tracking, goal setting, ways to reduce expenses, and how understanding your financial situation can assist you in the process of creating a budget that works for you.

In “Cleaning Up Your Credit” on March 31, you will learn how to reduce your debt, improve your credit, and maintain a good credit score. Create your own step-by-step plan to pay down your debt.
