Egg turning, flying bales and other scenes of summer

It was egg turning time on the loon nest Friday night. Their due date is between the 16th and 18th of this month. (© Jane Naliboff photo)

After turning the eggs, they were tucked back under the soft, warm belly of the parent who resettled on top of them. (© Jane Naliboff photo)

Everyone was all settled in for the night and the other parent was making its way back to the nest from across the lake; I assume to be close to them for the night. (© Jane Naliboff photo)

Dry weather's perfect for haying and Marilyn Bean of Vienna caught a flying bail as it headed towards the trailer. Good shot, Marilyn! (© Marilyn Bean photo)

A white water lily, about to open, was graced with reflections and sun sparkles on a sunny afternoon. (© Jane Naliboff photo)
