FARMINGTON – Current police officers honored one of their own Wednesday, presenting a shadow box to display a uniform, badges and other pieces of equipment to former Chief Raymond Orr.
Chief Jack Peck got the idea after Orr dropped off part of his old uniform, several badges and a few other items at the police station. Orr was the department’s former chief, retiring in 1979.
Peck had a wooden and glass box constructed to display the items and surprised Orr with a presentation at the Richard Caton III Memorial Police Station.
Orr’s family was in attendance.
I had the honor of being hired by Chief Orr in 1975. I worked with him for many years while he served as Chief and later served as selectperson.
I doubt that he or I knew in 1975 that he was starting me out on a 30+ year career.
Thank you, Chief, for your support and guidance through the early years.
Great idea uncle Raymond.. Hope you are doing ok..
This is such a great idea! A great way to show honor and respect.
Congratulations to former Chief Raymond Orr.
Long over due and Thanks To Chief Jack Peck for thinking of this great idea

Thank you Mr. Orr for all your years of service, this is such a good thing to for the Police Dept. to do for their former officer.
What a classy gesture. I’m sure this meant a lot to former Chief Orr and his family. Well done, Chief Peck.
