Franklin County grand jury indicts 25

FARMINGTON – Twenty-five people were indicted by a Franklin County grand jury on a total of 48 charges this week.

Included in the indictments are three men accused of allegedly beating a man on Main Street in Wilton on June 30 and a man charged with sexually assaulting a child.

Juan Colon, 23 of Livermore Falls, and Benjamin York and Kahner Dee, both 19 of Jay, were each indicted on a charge of Class B aggravated assault.

The three men are charged with allegedly assaulting Jason White, 43 of Wilton, who himself has been charged with criminal threatening. According to court documents, the incident began Sunday, June 30 at 7:30 p.m. on the Maxwell Road in Jay, when White drove past York, Dee, Colon and a fourth individual who has not been charged and threw an “improvised incendiary device.”

Following the use of the incendiary device, according to an arrest affidavit, Dee, York and Colon piled into a green Chevrolet Blazer, operated by Dee, and pursued White’s vehicle. They reportedly located White at his residence on Main Street in Wilton.

There, the affidavit says, York and Colon exited the Blazer and a confrontation between the two men and White ensued. According to the document, Colon, armed with a homemade club, struck White, who was armed with a hatchet-style weapon, in the head. White was rendered unconscious, falling in the travel lane of Main Street, near the Lake Road intersection.

Jeffrey Mitchell, 40, of Chesterville was also indicted on charges of Class C unlawful sexual contact and Class D unlawful sexual touching. After an investigation by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department, Mitchell was arrested in July on the sexual assaults, which are alleged to have occurred between January 2005 to Dec. 31, 2006.

Lindsay Cirell, 31, of Bingham, was indicted on charges of Class C aggravated criminal trespass and Class B aggravated assault.

Marie Cirelli, 37, of Bingham, was indicted on charges of Class C aggravated criminal trespass and Class D assault.

Jerome Cole, 37, of Charleston, was indicted on a charge of Class C (with priors) theft.

Juan Colon, 23, of Livermore Falls, was indicted on a charge of Class B aggravated assault.

Erica Curtis, 30, of Benton, was indicted on a charge of Class C theft.

Kahner Dee, 19, of Jay, was indicted on a charge of Class B aggravated assault.

Jason Fowler, 39, of Chesterville, was indicted on charges of Class C (with priors) assault and Class D criminal mischief.

Evan Gordan, 23, of Farmington, was indicted on a charge of Class C (with priors) theft.

Evan Gordon, 29, of Farmington, was indicted on charges of Class B burglary and Class C theft.

Elijah Hutchins, 32, of Farmington, was indicted on charges of Class C (prior) domestic violence assault and Class C (prior) criminal threatening.

Evan Hutchinson, 18, of Carthage, was indicted on charges of Class B burglary, Class B theft, Class D criminal mischief and Class D theft.

Jason Ladd, 29, of Medway, was indicted on Class C (with priors) theft.

Philip Ledoux, 31, of Rangeley, was indicted on a Class C (with prior) domestic violence assault.

Jennifer Malchisky, 32, of Sandy River Plantation, was indicted on charges of Class C theft and Class D forgery.

Robert Merandes, 33, of Otisfield, was indicted on a charge of Class C (with prior) failure to register vehicle.

Jeffrey Mitchell, 40, of Chesterville, was indicted on charges of Class C unlawful sexual contact and Class D unlawful sexual touching.

Christopher Nault, 44. of Jay, was indicted on charges of Class C (with two priors) aggravated operating after license revocation, Class C eluding, Class E violating condition of release and Class E driving to endanger.

Scott Osborne, 43, of Industry, was indicted on charges of Class C (with prior) aggravated operating after revocation, Class D (with prior) operating under the influence, Class D endangering the welfare of a child, two Class E violating conditions of release.

John Pillsbury, 49, of Phillips, was indicted on charges of Class C reckless conduct with a weapon – domestic violence, Class C reckless conduct with a weapon, Class D domestic violence assault.

Benjamin Rush, 30, of Farmington, was indicted on charges of Class B aggravated assault and Class D criminal restraint.

Nicholas Smiley, 22, of Jay, was indicted on a charge of Class C possession of sexually explicit materials.

Casey Smith, 28, of Carthage, was indicted on Class C theft by deception and Class E violating conditions of release.

Cynthia St. Peter, 56, of Jay, was indicted on charges of Class C possession of oxycodone, Class D (with prior) operating under the influence and Class E possession of schedule Z drug.

Lee Wurzel, 29, of Waterville, was indicted on a charge of Class C theft.

Benjamin York, 19, of Jay, was indicted on a charge of Class B aggravated assault.

  1. I am confused.Are adults(age 22) no longer allowed to possess sexually explicit materials?

  2. chickadee – that charge always refers to sexually explicit materials containing minors. He wasn’t charged for a porno rag.

  3. The man obviously didn’t have just sexually explicit materials especially if it involved under age people or young girls period….by th looks off the charges here a little common sense
