Giant submarine sandwich over Basil’s Pizza?

1 min read
I saw this giant submarine sandwich over Basils pizza and submarine sandwich shop Thursday. Actually it was the new gas holding tank for CN Brown being delivered. The tank was offloaded a flat bed trailer truck it took up the whole flatbed. It was lifted up in the air over the wires and placed the whole maneuver from lifting off the flatbed to placing it in the ground took 10 minutes. Most amazing how smooth it went. Basils has been closed during the tank replacement and should be opening soon.

FARMINGTON –  Is this a giant submarine sandwich over Basil’s Pizza and submarine sandwich shop?

No, according to Jan Roberts of Farmington, who captured the moment. It’s the new gas holding tank for CN Brown’s gas station on Wilton Road  being delivered. The tank was offloaded from a flat bed trailer truck and  lifted up and over many utility wires. The whole maneuver from lifting off the flatbed to placing it in the ground took 10 minutes, Roberts said and he added, “most amazing was how smooth it went.”

Basil’s Pizza has had to endure being closed during the tank replacement and should be opening soon. The shop is located at 248 Wilton Road and is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. For more information call 778-9070.
