Cosmos, a genus of about 20–26 species of flowering plants in the family Asteraceae, can reach a height of 4 feet with many colors. As we see here, by fall they add a frilly texture to the deep blues of the lake shore. (Jane Knox/Belgrade Lakes)

  1. Wow, great shots, love the loon on Clearwater & the 1st Quill Hill pic.
Tom , have you named those bucks yet?

  2. The most awesome pictures to enjoy. We are so lucky to have all these pictures to enjoy. Thak you all so much.

  3. Always so enjoyable to come to this part of dailybulldog. However, my pick for favorite this week is the fairy disguised as a seed. And, I believe there’s a Monet being passed off as a photo.

  4. pat b…I saw that Monet too! Jane calls it Autumn reflections. Beautiful! And I love the sunsets from Quill Hill. If you haven’t driven up Quill Hill yet, time to do it. It’s on the road between Rangeley and Stratton. Adrian Brochu has done such a great job creating that road and also the one in Ira Mountain near Kingfield.

  5. Great Pictures, I am currently living in California and looking at these is a great reminder of my home states beauty. I miss the foliage , so nice to see.
