DALLAS PLANTATION – A man from Indiana was seriously injured on Route 16 yesterday afternoon, after his motorcycle crashed due to a possible mechanical issue.

According to Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Nate Bean, a 1996 black Harley Davidson motorcycle was heading east on Route 16 through Dallas Plantation toward Eustis when the crash occurred. Ryan Dishner, 41 from Indiana, apparently lost control of the motorcycle due to a “possible mechanical failure issue” and crossed the center line, into the oncoming lane. His motorcycle then left the roadway and crashed into tall grass and rocks.

Dishner received significant head trauma as a result of the crash, Bean said, and was transported to Franklin Memorial Hospital and then to Central Maine Medical Center. He was not wearing a helmet, Bean said.

In addition to FCSO Deputy Derrick Doucette, Deputy Keith Madore, Chief Deputy Steve Lowell and Sgt. Bean, Rangeley Police and Fire Department responded to the scene, as did NorthStar EMS. Doucette is the primary investigating officer.
