SALEM – MSAD 58 will host three meetings in Kingfield, Phillips and Strong this month, in order to solicit feedback about a proposal to add a pre-kindergarten program in each of its elementary schools.

Funds to start a pre-kindergarten program were included in the current budget, with the $30,000 to go toward the creation of a two-day-a-week program for children 4 years of age. Those funds, included in the 2014 budget process, survived the annual budget meeting and an attempt to cut them back in May.

MSAD 58 has proposed the September meetings as a chance to discuss “wants, wishes and worries for the proposed pre-kindergarten program.”

The meetings will be held Monday, Sept. 15 at 5 p.m. at Kingfield Elementary School, Thursday, Sept. 25 at 5 p.m. at Phillips Elementary School and Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 5 p.m. at Strong Elementary School.
