FARMINGTON – The Mt. Blue Regional School District board recognized its top Mt. Blue Campus students at Tuesday’s board meeting, in what has become an annual tradition.
The school board hosted a reception for the top 10 high school students, according to academic ranking, as well as a student taking vocational programs through the Foster Career and Technical Education Center. Students attend the meeting with parents and other family members, and tell the board what their plans are.
Students recognized by the board Tuesday evening included:
Jacob Rutberg, the Foster Career and Technical Education Center Student of the Year. Rutberg will be attending the University of Southern Maine in Portland to study Elementary Education.
Katherine Gunther, who will be attending Roger Williams University in Bristol, R.I., to study architecture.
Brendan Hickey, who will be attending the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Mass., to study contemporary writing and production.
Michaela Hutchinson, who will be taking the next year to travel.
Daniel Lesko, who will be attending the University of Maine at Orono and studying bioengineering.
Olivia Martin, who will be attending the University of New Hampshire at Manchester and studying sign language interpreting.
Samuel McIntosh, who will be attending St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn. and studying physics.
Rachel Mitchell, who will be attending Central Maine Community College in Auburn and studying accounting.
Kelsey Parlin, who will be attending the Southern Maine Community College in South Portland and studying culinary.
Cheyanne Savage, who will be attending the University of Maine at New England and studying medical biology.
Christopher Titus, who will be going to the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo. and studying aeronautical engineering.
