JAY – Law enforcement is seeking information about a home invasion robbery that occurred Sunday night at a Farrington Road residence.

According to a statement released by Jay Police Department Detective Michael Mejia, police received a report about a home invasion Sunday night, with Cpl. Jeff Fournier responding at 11:59 p.m.

The homeowner was reportedly awakened by two individuals standing in his bedroom, after they had forced entry into the home. The homeowner’s hands were tied behind his back with packaging tape and he was made to lay face down on the bed. One of the suspects, Mejia said, told the homeowner that he was in possession of a gun.

The suspects stole a large portion of “an extensive coin collection” as well as the homeowner’s wallet and cellphone. The suspects left the residence and were picked up in a vehicle driven by a third individual.

The homeowner freed his hands and called 9-1-1. He was not injured in the incident, police said.

Chief Richard Caton IV and Mejia assisted Fournier at the scene. Evidence was collected and would be processed at the Maine State Crime Lab, Mejia said. The investigation is ongoing.

Images of the suspects were captured in the residence. Anyone who can identify the individuals in the photos or provide information regarding the home invasion should contact the Jay Police Department at 897-6766.

  1. had he not been wearing the mask would have made a good shot to recognize this person.
    Hope they are caught

  2. If scum like that tried to do something along the lines at my place, rest assured they’d be leaving toes up on a gurney!

  3. It would be nice if a little more detail was given. The police should be able to measure those shelves and tell us an approximate height on the guy with the mask. That is an industrial type mask and the color of the canisters tell what they protect against. I realize it is black and white but you can make an educated guess as to there color, and where they may be used.
