  2. That is a “Monarch” and a “Monarch caterpillar” in the 2nd and 3rd photos. I have had the pleasure of hatching a chrysalis once this summer and waiting for the second one any day. Monarchs a so rare we need to protect them. Thank you all for the wonderful photos.
