FARMINGTON – The Thai Smile & Sushi Restaurant has reopened at its new home across Front Street, celebrating with a ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday.

Franklin County Chamber of Commerce and town officials assisted owner Chaiwat Kloythep in cutting the ribbon to open the restaurant’s new location at 168 Front Street. A former Chester Greenwood earmuff factory and previous home of the Greenwood Dining Room and Stone Hearth Cafe, the new location will offer the Thai Smile additional space and an outdoor patio area. Thai Smile opened five years ago at 103 Narrow Gauge Square.

“They haven’t moved far,” Chamber Executive Director Penny Meservier said, “but it’s a bigger location and a great place.”

Greenwood Dining Room is closing, while the Stone Hearth Cafe is moving across Front Street and down to the Snack Shack located between the Narrow Gauge Cinemas complex and the University of Maine at Farmington’s Prescott Field. The Stone Hearth’s wood fired pizza will be served on Friday and Saturday nights for now.

Thai Smile will debut at its new location with an updated menu that includes Thai steak, fried clams and more. The menu and access to on-line ordering is available at www.thaismileandsushi.com.
