Scenes of wild Franklin County

"Thought I'd submit a couple photos of dwarf ginseng found on a wildflower walk with Gold LEAF in Chesterville. Apparently rarely seen. We thought this plant was indeed 'cool' and exquisite." - Karyl Condit

"Funny, seems to be a trend. This bear visited most homes in my neck of the woods last night. My wife Erin got a few photos but this is as close as she wanted to get. From the kitchen window!" - Seth Landry of Vienna

"Even though yesterday was an on & off rainy day our wild flower field looked good." - Gil Riley of Wilton

"All this rain that has set in has ended what was an excellent lady slipper season this Spring." - Gil Riley of Wilton

We've looked for ginseng in our walks in the Maine woods for years without seeing any. You truly found a treasure! There is so much beauty around us this time of the year. Thanks to you all for sharing your pictures with us.
Gil,
Breathtaking field of lupine!!!
THANKS for sharing
Amazing photos :)
The birds and plant life are truly beauliful and remind me so much of the times when I lived on the farm . Will be visiting next week June 28th.
Erin did the right thing by keeping her distance from the bear .
A child of 7 was attacked at a campsite not far from us here in Chatanooga . The mother was able to wrench the child from the bear but the Bear turned on her and she died. The boy lived to see it all .
So . beware of the bear !
