WILTON – The Selectboard voted to award the bid to replace the roof on the Kineowatha Park Senior Citizen Building Tuesday evening.

Blodgett Builders were awarded the winning bid at $8,863. That bid included $363 in additional work on the gutters and trim of the roof, added after Recreation Director Frank Donald met with the bidders.

“Blodgett Builders are local to Wilton and have done an excellent job in the past,” Town Manager Rhonda Irish said.

An effort to repair the Kineowatha Park retaining wall is moving ahead, with the Selectboard approving continued work with Main-Land Development to assist in the design of the wall. The motion included an agreement that the work will not exceed a fee of $1,500. Residents approved the appropriation of $1,500 to repair the wall at the annual town meeting.

The town is working on a Land and Water Conservation grant to complete the engineering of the wall, following a meeting on Sept. 9.

A bid on the retired police cruiser was accepted by a unanimous vote as long as the bidder knows that the cruiser goes ‘as is, where is’. The bidders, Chicago Motors of Illinois, offered $3,507 on the 2000 Chevy Impala.
