FARMINGTON – Maine’s senators recognized Town Manager Richard Davis’ receiving the 2018 Manager of the Year award, with representatives delivering letters of congratulations to the town office Friday.
Davis received the Linc Stackpole Manager of the Year Award at the annual conference of the Maine Town, City and County Management Association in Yarmouth last summer. Named for the Machias town manager, Lincoln Stackpole, the award recognizes leadership, integrity and a service within and beyond the recipient’s community.
Learning of the award, Sen. Susan Collins and Sen. Angus King dispatched Carlene Tremblay and Ben Tucker, respectively, to Farmington to deliver letters of congratulation to Davis. Also present was Diane Jackson of the Maine Department Economic and Community Development.
“What a huge honor to be voted town manager of the year by your colleagues,” Tucker said.
“You’re an amazing town manager,” Tremblay said.
“I have an amazing town,” Davis replied. He went on to credit the department heads and staff in Farmington, posing for a group photo.
I guess the spotlight wasn’t bright enough for Mills, Collins, King, or Golden.
Well done, and well deserved!
