JAY – The 7th Annual Hope with Every Step Maine Superhero 5k run/walk and Family Fun Day will be held on Saturday, Oct. 1 at Spruce Mountain High School.

Come dressed as your favorite super hero and join the 5k run/walk starting at 8:30 a.m. Opening ceremonies will be held at 10 a.m. followed by the 1 mile Hope family walk. The Family Fun Day runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with more children’s activities added to the event.

This year the Family Fun Day is featuring Calzolaio Pasta Company’s pasta meal, a live remote radio broadcast by 92 Moose, life-sized board games including Hungry Hungry Hippos and Chutes and Ladders, multiple bounce houses and an inflatable 72-foot obstacle course from Mad Tents, DJ Jazzy Hartford, Walmart Heart Touch-A-Truck, tons of food, a live auction, raffles and more!

Please come out and support Team Josh Brochu, 14, his sister Brooke Brochu, 11, both of Jay, and Emmy Rowles, 10, of Lewiston, by helping to raise money for the A-T Children’s Project. The ATCP supports first rate research for life improving therapies and a cure for Ataxia Telangiectasia (A-T), a deadly rare genetic disease that Josh, Brooke and Emmy suffer from.

Schedule of events for Saturday, Oct. 1:

7 a.m. Registration & Breakfast Served
(Registration Fees: Individual $25; Family of 3 $50; Family of 4 $75)
8:30 a.m. Super Hero 5K Run/Walk – Cash prizes & medals to top finishers
10 a.m. Opening Ceremonies
10:15 a.m. 1 mile HOPE Family Walk
92 Moose Live Remote Broadcast
11 a.m. Magic Show
Pasta meal provided by Calzolaio Pasta Company including baked ziti with meat sauce, baked ziti with red sauce, baked pasta with chicken, broccoli and cream sauce, salad and garlic bread
1 p.m. Live Auction
2 p.m. Raffle and Quilt Drawing
3 p.m. Closing Ceremony

  1. This is a great event for three really amazing kids! Every year it gets bigger and better. Definitely the place to be if you want to have fun as a whole family!

    Game/Barrel Train Ride punch card tickets will be for sale on the field. 4 tickets for $1.00, 25 tickets for $5.00.

    Anyone wishing to register may do so online until 5:00 pm Friday, 9/30/16 at http://www.atcp.org/HopeStepMaine. Registration will be open at Hope with Every Step on Saturday 10/1/16 from 7:00 am until 3:00 pm. You should register if you’d like to help us raise money for the A-T Children’s Project by fundraising in support of Josh, Brooke and Emmy. Registration allows you to run/walk the Superhero 5K, compete for the convertible touch screen laptop top fundraiser prize and includes an event T-shirt, while supplies last for anyone who didn’t pre-register online by Sept 18.
