EAST DIXFIELD – Maine State Police have made three arrests in relation to the July 1 burglaries at three local convenience stores, after members of law enforcement and the public provided information upon viewing video surveillance stills.

According to Trooper Reid Bond, Einer Bonilla, 21, and Duane Bailey, 27; both of Nebraska, and D’Kota Rowe, 20 of East Dixfield, have been arrested and charged in connection with the burglaries. All three men had been living at Rowe’s residence in East Dixfield after Bonilla and Bailey reportedly came to the state to work for a fairground concession stand operated by Rowe’s mother.

State and Jay police had responded to three burglaries in the early morning hours of Wednesday, July 1.

At approximately 1:45 a.m., Troopers Randy Hall and Keith Barton responded to a report of a burglary at Our Village Market in New Vineyard. Two individuals had made entry into the store by shattering its glass front door with a hammer, but were deterred by the store’s alarm system.

Jay police would respond to My Dad’s Place on the Old Jay Hill Road a couple hours later at 3:30 a.m., after receiving a report of a burglary. Two subjects had forcibly entered through the front door and stolen beer, Bond said.

Then, at 5:15 a.m., Troopers Andrew Hardy and Bond responded to Skoolhouse Variety in Weld after receiving a third report of a burglary in Franklin County. Two individuals had once again gained entry after using a hammer on the glass front door, Bond said. Cigarettes, chewing tobacco, cigars and bottles of hard alcohol were taken.

Video surveillance footage was recovered from all three stores and still shots were released to the public Wednesday afternoon.

A series of tips by both law enforcement officers and members of the general public led Hardy and Bond to 939 U.S. Route 2 West in East Dixfield, Bond said. After conducting interviews, Bonilla, Bailey and Rowe were arrested by Trooper Hardy.

Each was charged with two counts of felony burglary. Bonilla was also charged with one count of criminal mischief and one count of felony theft. Bailey was charged with misdemeanor criminal mischief and theft. Charges are still pending in regards to the My Dad’s Place investigation in Jay.

Bond noted that responding officers had been assisted by Sgt. Chad Abbott of the Wilton Police Department and Det. Ken Charles of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

WOW Glad that you know it all. Take a look at the pictures from the house robbery and compare them. They aren’t even the same body types.

  3. I hope that Rowe faces additional charges, too. He’s the local, he is likely the one who identified their targets (and he’s likely the one who knew how to get from here to there).

I have seen all of the guys in and around town for the past year, I have no doubt that they conspired together.

D’Kota, You really messed up and I am very disappointed in you. You will get through this and I certainly hope you learn a valuable lesson. I know you knew better than to have done this, I am having a hard time wrapping my mind around WHY. I feel sorry for your folks who have taken care of you and your “friends” for such a long time. You need to grow up and get a job that offers you more stability, once you get this mess figured out.

I am grateful that the local PD was able to identify these guys and help our beautiful community to sleep better at night. Thank you.

  5. The fact that they stole poison drinks and cancer sticks tells me all I need to know about them!

  6. Good work to all that was involved finding these criminals. We don’t need these kind of people on the streets.
