RANGELEY – The Rangeley Region Guides and Sportsmen’s Association officially opened the Tim Baker Nature Trail on Thursday, June 16.

director began the cutting of the trail. Last September, Amanda Gardner, DOI/VISTA site director, led a 10-member Americorps team and made the appropriate changes to complete to trail.
The 0.4 mile trail is located adjacent to the RRG&SA Clubhouse and pond and is open to the public seven days a week during daylight hours. Additional information, including a map and description of the trail, can be found on the Club’s website

I worked with Tim at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard before he retired. I remember how much he loved Rangeley. We were so sad to hear of his passing. This is a lovely memorial for a wonderful person.
Tim was on of my favorite people at the Shipyard. I think about him often. What a nice memorial to him.
I worked with Tim at the Shipyard. He loved his beautiful wife Cathy, his family, Rangley and his black lab, Baxter. Every weekend they would head up to Rangley. When he retired, he gave me his Shipyard name plate, as a joke , but, I still have! Tim was a wonderful man with a huge heart! I was so sad when I heard of his passing …
